Ask yourself this: who in the world doesn’t want to see a new golf superleague? Greg Norman is changing the professional world of golf. At a press conference this week, Norman said the PIF and LIV Golf is increasing its annual investment in a series of 10 Asian Tour events from $200 million to $300 million. Those events, called the International Series, will be played in Thailand, England, Korea, Vietnam, the Middle East, China, Singapore and Hong Kong, LIV Golf said in a press conference. Norman is betting on the players being a big driver of interest and enthusiasm. For fans of golf, a new Saudi-backed league will give us all: -More golf to watch -New tournaments and events, new backdrops from more courses around the world we probably would never see… -A special, separate offering than the FedEx cup and other tours. Moreover, it will in fact grow the game of golf around the world… For the players, it is more money. Some things the new Saudi Arabia-backed league won’t change: The Masters will continue to be “a tradition unlike any other.” The US Open and British Open and other big annual events will not lose any importance. Here’s how the new LIV Investments effort is changing golf forever.
